A regular yoga practice for adolescents increases self-esteem and mental & physical well-being, strengthens coping mechanisms, reduces anxiety, and improves mood and the ability to self-regulate emotions. This special 4-week series will incorporate physical postures for strength &
flexibility, breathing techniques for anxiety & stress management, and relaxation to calm the mind. Class size is limited to 10 students. Advance registration is required.

SUN SALUTATIONS A sequence of yoga postures traditionally used to greet the morning sun - leaving you feeling energized, fired up, and radiant! A great way to begin your day or when you need a mid-day pick-me-up.
DE-STRESS TO STUDY Hours of sitting at a desk and studying can result in tense muscles and increased stress. We’ll learn yoga postures and breathing techniques to help temper anxiety, release physical tension, and improve memory and focus.
YOGA FOR SPORTS A regular yoga practice results in more elastic, pliable tissues that help you bounce back more easily from the stressors in your sport. We’ll examine the physical benefits of yoga for sports, and yoga postures used to boost performance and reduce sports-related injuries.
BUILDING BALANCE & ACROYOGA! We’ll explore balance and practice staying centered in individual and partner poses that belong in the circus!

CLASS ETIQUETTE
ONLY A LIGHT SNACK BEF If you practice yoga on a full stomach, you might experience cramps or nausea, especially in twists and deep forward bends. The process of digestion can also sap your energy and make you feel lethargic.
NO FOOD OR DRINK IN CLASS Water in a sealed water bottle is permitted.
WEAR COMFORTABLE, SEMI-FITTED EXERCISE CLOTHING like bike shorts or leggings with a tank top or t-shirt. Girls, some yoga poses require an upside-down or wide-legged position. Please do not wear skirts or short shorts in which you may feel self-conscious in these positions.
ARRIVE EARLY For the first class, please arrive a few minutes early to complete the registration process.
TURN OFF CELL PHONE If you would like to stay and observe your child during class, please be sure to switch off your phone to minimize distraction.
STAY UNTIL THE END OF CLASS Yoga is a holistic practice. Exercise brings blood flow away from organs to skeletal muscles. Relaxation brings blood flow back to the organs. Final relaxation and integration are important for healing, balance, and equilibrium.
